Introduction
ConstellaWP is a control plane for WordPress maintenance. You manage sites from app.constellawp.com: backups, updates, inventory, and an event log. A lightweight ConstellaWP Agent plugin on each WordPress site executes the work locally.
The SaaS never stores your backup archives. That is BYOS (Bring Your Own Storage): you connect a bucket you already own, and the agent uploads archives directly to that provider.
What you can do

- Run backups on a schedule (or on demand) to S3, R2, B2, or Spaces
- Apply WordPress core, plugin, theme, and translation updates
- See system inventory (PHP, WordPress version, plugins, themes)
- Follow an event timeline for every job
- Optionally link a hosting account (Cloudways, cPanel, WP Engine) for server-level actions
What ConstellaWP is not
Section titled “What ConstellaWP is not”ConstellaWP does not host WordPress, deploy your theme code, or keep a copy of backup files on its own servers. Server management (Nginx, PHP-FPM) is out of scope unless a hosting connector exposes a specific action.
Before you start

- Administrator access on the WordPress site you want to connect
- WordPress 6.0+ and PHP 8.1+ on that site
- For backups: a bucket on one of the supported storage providers
